A Few Days After Chapter 1[1]

Third Person POV

To say that (Y/n) was a bit irritated after she got off the phone with her

boyfrie- ex- boyfriend over the phone, would be an understatement. How

could she have not noticed it before? She had won a few awards over the

years, but she never thought she would win the title of dating the dumbest

f**k in existence would be added to her list...

Really, just because he saw her with Estonia in town, didn’t prove that she

was cheating on him. Of course, like any irritated female, she might have

overreacted a bit when she called him an idiot. It might have also been a tad

over the line to tell him that if she was cheating on him, she would have

broke up with him anyways for being such a over-protective jerk. However, it

seemed justified.[2] After such an infuriating discussion,

(Y/n) needed to recover from her current bout of emotions. She decided it was

best to take a walk through the city. With her goal in mind, she pulled on

her coat and left her home, but not before texting Russia and telling him

about the break-up. (Y/n) figured she needed a friend to vent at some point,

so she also invited Ivan to meet up with her in the park when she was done

with her stroll.

Despite the fact that she planned on wandering the outskirts of town for a

bit, (Y/n) had unconsciously moved herself in the direction of the park. It

was an absolutely beautiful day to be sure, but her mind wasn’t focused on

her surroundings. Was she strange? Abnormal? She couldn’t be sure... people

generally cry when they break up with someone they had been dating for a

while. Why could she accept what had happened so quickly after loosing

something she shared with someone else for some years of her life? (Y/n)

searched for answers in the cracked concrete as she stared down at her feet

for a few moments. Maybe, it was because Ivan was right...? Maybe she wasn’t

upset because she wasn’t really loosing anything important to her. Maybe she

had finally found something she wanted. With that realization, (Y/n) found

herself giving a true smile for the first time in years, she felt free with

that knowledge, and she started to run towards the park entrance that

welcomed her back with a spectacular, yet small glimpse at the beauty hidden

within it.

When she arrived inside, (Y/n) found herself being able to observe

the world around her in a way that made her reminisce a time when she was

small; not something she did very often. She made her way over to a near-by

bench to cool down. From what she saw, it was a appealing place to rest. This

bench was painted a forest green that had begin to fade and chip due to the

exposure in faced in the harsh winters and the time that had passed. It was

perched a top a small hill, looking over the activities and movement of

people and animals alike as they enjoyed the day. The bench had also been

placed next to a singular tree, who’s bark was twisted, and had grow large as

it aged alongside its man-made companion.

(Y/n) would visit here the most out of any other spots in the park, and just

the thought of seeing it today made her exited. Unfortunately, being a person

that preferred solitude more than most, she felt her shoulders drop as her

happy pace slowly came to a halt when she saw that someone was sitting in her

favorite spot. She would’ve started disappointingly back to her home, but as

she turned from the strangers profile (Y/n) caught a glimpse of dark-colored

frames for glasses, and proceeded to make her way to the bench to confirm her

suspicions.

She felt herself grin as she crept up behind Estonia and halted, successfully

being close to him without arousing his suspicions. (Y/n) would have made a

loud noise to startle her newest friend, but she hesitated when she notes his

expression: he was thinking.

Eduard’s brow was slightly furrowed, and his lips were in a straight line.

His eyes were staring out into the air in front of him, almost having a

glazed-over look to them. (Y/n) heard a strange purring sound and looked to

Estonia’s lap, where a strange little white creature was taking advantage of

his absent-minded petting as he continued to ponder.

(Y/n) smiled faintly, then moved closer to him, forgetting her initial plan

to scare him. Even so, Eduard still startled a bit when he noticed her. It

took him a few moments to realize that the person now standing in front of

him was, in fact, (Y/n). As soon as he had, he felt heat slowly climb up his

cheeks, nodding to her in a silent greeting. (Y/n) was about to ask if she

could have a seat, but Eduard politely shifted to the other side of the

bench, making a place for her to sit.

Still preserving the silents, the two both looked out on the park, watching

the children playing a crude form of soccer with a rubber ball. (Y/n) didn’t

mind that they had not spoken a word to each other since they both sat down.

However, Estonia seemed to feel obligated to talk, and he attempted to make

conversation after a few minutes.

“So...(Y/n)..?” he shifted self-consciously, looking at the small animal in

his hands. He heard a faint ‘hmm?‘ in response, so he continued. “Have you

been doing well?” The woman couldn’t help but giggle when she observed how

awkward the Estonian was. “It’s only been a day~, not much has happened since

I went to bed last night.” (Y/n)  continued to giggle as Eduard’s face

flushed considerably in embarrassment, but her pleasant mood turned slightly

more serous, and her smile faded as she recalled why she had came to the park

in the first place, “But my boyfriend and I broke up this morning.”  The

statement dragged Estonia out of his own embarrassment as he looked at her

with an expression that was difficult for her to interpret, she labeled it as

concern peppered with confusion.

“I am sorry to hear that,” Eduard scooted closer to her shyly, as if she was

a fawn, and any sudden movement would cause her to flee from him. (Y/n)

noticed this, but payed it no mind. “If I am not prying, can I ask why?” The

caution infecting his actions and words brought the content little smile back

to her face, and she relayed what had happened, explaining her and her ex’s

misunderstanding as well as his stubbornness to believe that she was lying.

Through the tale, Eduard’s form had slowly angled downward in guilt. He

apologized profusely, saying it was his fault for wasting time after they had

finished their shopping.

(Y/n) caught herself feeling amused as well as endeared once again to

Eduard’s flustered behavior, she interrupted him before he felt too awkward.

“Eduard....EDUARD!!” She laughed as she placed her hand over his mouth to

stop him, which it did, however his mind seemed to be stuck on the topic.

(Y/n) continued on, attempting to reassure him, “ I was sort of glad to have

it happen, it brought to light what I want in my life.” She paused to let the

poor man absorb the information, as she leaned back on the bench, “I know

exactly what I want.”

Estonia trained his eyes on her, silently asking her to continue with his

eyes. (Y/n) smiled at him and shifted to sit closer to Eduard, allowing her

head to lean on his shoulder.

Estonia stiffened at first, hearing only his rapid heart beat and witnessing

time slowing down, just for him, just this once. And after coming back into

reality, he gradually relaxed into the position as he hesitantly brought his

arm up to rap around (Y/n)’s shoulders, pulling her closer as the pair

continued to look at the oblivious park below.

Russia/Ivan’s POV

Russia found himself, once again, looking at the scene taking place before

him, feeling very content in witnessing his friend’s success. ‘

Finally,
’ he thought, ‘ (Y/n) has found what she wants~

He wasn’t about to let anyone ruin that for her, since Ivan and (Y/n) have

always watched out for each other. Russia knew (y/n) would encourage him to

take a path for his own happiness if he was ever in the same situation.

With that in mind, he decided if that idiot of a boyfriend ever did

come back, he would break his legs~ <3 [3]
